The heart of the St. Mark’s ministries is the Free Butterflies women’s support group. These women, who had been homeless for years, meet on Zoom twice a month with St. Mark’s volunteers. They also meet monthly at a craft group where they knit, sew, and connect. 100% of the participants have remained housed during the past 6 years! These incredible women are a blessing to St. Mark’s!

We provide support for recently housed women through the Free Butterflies Women's Circle.  This group meets twice a month to work on goals to stay housed and to improve their lives.

 housed individuals,

...HOT MEAL MINISTRY

For many years the Walteria United Methodist Church and St. Mark's Presbyterian Church have partnered to provide a hearty hot and sack lunch every second Saturday of the month.  Walteria United Methodist Church provides the hot meals which are cooked by volunteers from both churches.  St. Mark's Presbyterian church members donate the sack lunches which contains 8 food items.  Meals can either be picked up or enjoyed in a social setting at the Walteria United Methodist Church.

...GARDEN CHURCH

The Garden Church worships in an empty lot-turned urban farm and outdoor sanctuary.  St. Mark’s has partnered with and provided dinner to their community several times a year and protein based replacement meals for the homeless. The Garden Church re-images church as connections, as they transform a plot of land into a vibrant community worshiping, loving and serving together.  All are welcome and eat together after the Sunday afternoon worship service!St. Mark’s provides the meal monthly as we seek to serve and connect with our wonderful friends in San Pedro.
