Welcome Back to St. Mark’s Presbyterian Church

Safety Guidelines for Returning to In-Person Worship
St. Mark’s Presbyterian Church is pleased to announce that we have been worshiping back in-person since May of 2021! For those who prefer to join us online, we are also livestreaming our worship services on our YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC0Y6g0x1UggLpkFH-vfHCMg simultaneously on Sundays. If you’re planning to join us in-person, we thought we would let you know what you can expect, as we have made a few temporary modifications to our service to ensure everyone’s safety.
First, a Warm, Safe, and Hearty Welcome!
When you arrive to church on Sunday mornings, you’ll be greeted by our warm and welcoming ushers! We’re a “hugging church” as they say, but for now, we have been keeping our hands to ourselves, until it’s safe again to bump elbows, shake hands and give a proper St. Mark’s welcome.
Face Masks and Face coverings are optional
With the new L.A. Country orders, we have made face masks optional for Sunday worshipers, regardless of vaccination status. Those who wish to worship and sing mask free are whole-heartedly welcomed to do so, while those who decide to continue wearing masks are also welcome to do so. (Our Sunday Schools have decided to ask participants to continue wearing masks in class for now, out of an abundance of caution for our youngest non-vaccinated children.)
A Few Other Temporary Changes for Now
You can also expect a few minor changes to our worship, which we hope will be temporary. 1) The Sunday Offering will no longer be collected during the service but through a collection basket that will be placed at the entrance of the double doors of the sanctuary. 2) The “Passing of the Peace” will be done in a touch-free manner until we are allowed to hug, shake hands and bump elbows again. 3) Communion. In addition to individual wafers and cups that will be used at the Lord's Table, pre-sealed communion elements will also be made available as well. Our normal way of observing communion through “intinction” and from a common loaf and cup will resume when it is safe to do so again.
Come for the Worship, Stay for the Fellowship
While we have not resumed our coffee fellowship after the service, we encourage everyone to join us on the outside patio for fellowship and to visit with one another while observing social distancing. Our wonderful lawn is also available to spread out on and catch up with one another.
Christian Education has Resumed
If you are coming to church with your children, we have made the following modifications. Our Nursery meets outside in the play yard right below the patio steps. Our Elementary age children meet for Bible Study on the patio outside at a table in the shade. Those who are Middle School age and older are asked to stay in the sanctuary for worship. Parents who are more comfortable keeping their children with them throughout the worship service are more than welcome to do so. We love noisy children!
Online Worship Option
Should you feel more comfortable worshiping with us from home, we are live streaming our Sunday Worship service on YouTube.

Worship services will be recorded and made available after each service to be viewed at your convenience.
We can’t wait to personally welcome you back to church and look forward to worshiping with you in-person again!
